Born as son of Wiprecht von Groitzsch and (Ludmila) von Böhmen.

Wiprecht supports his uncle Boriwoi of Behemia in his attempts to reach back the crown of Bohemia and on December 23. they capture Prague.

King Heinrich V. invades in Bohemia and captures Boriwoi and Wiprecht. They become arrested in Hammerstein castle.

In exchange for the towns Morungen und Leisnig as well as the lands Nisan (Neiße) and Budissin (Bautzen) Wiprechts father bought him free from prison. Wiprecht got Eckartsberga by the Emporer and now he fights together with the emporer (who trapt him before) agains the oppositional nobility in Saxony including his father (who spend all this land to safe him). Shortly after his imprisoning he attacks togehther with royal forces the castle of his father. After a loss of 500 man the attackers went back.

Wiprechts father is caught by Hoyer von Mansfeld and shall be executed. Wiprecht offers all the lands to the emporer to change this into imprisoning in the emporers castle Trifels.

Lothar von Sachsen (LOWER SAXONY!!!), the later king Lothar III., defeats the emporer. With him fights Wiprecht who kills in the battle Hoyer von Mansfeld who got all the land Wiprecht offered to the king. Now the family may went back to Groitzsch.

Death of Wiprecht
